Trying to Help Them All:

Pets in Need of Donations for Their Ablation Surgery with Dr. Wright and Her Team Right Now -

Please donate to help Willow have surgery if you are able.

Willowmina (Willow) is a 7 month old Merle Great Dane. She is so loving and playful!! She has become an amazing addition to our family but she needs help ASAP. Willow has Tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy.  Her heart is giving out an extra electrical signal causing it to race and over work. This put her into the beginning stages of heart failure. She spent two days in the MedVet ICU in Worthington to get her heart under control and reduce the fluid build up in her lungs and abdomen. She is now home and on around the clock medications that are only going to hold over for so long.  Willow needs a surgery called Radiofrequency Catheter Ablation. This will be done at MedVet in Cincinnati. This ablation would put the catheter into her heart and burn the extra nerve signal and cure her! She would be able to go back to her normal puppy life and get off of all of the heart medications. This procedure costs $5000-$6000 She has fought too hard and we love her too much to not give her a fighting chance.  If you are able to help it would be greatly appreciated and if not, a prayer would be just as appreciated!!

Bowie's Situation Prior to His Recent Ablation Surgery:

My name is Brady Kasinec. When my wife Brandie and I decided to get a puppy we never fully realized just how much we would grow to love him. In the short time we have had Bowie he has become more than just a pet to us. When we get up early for work or school he is the first face we see. When I put him in his cage to go to bed at night he is the last face I see. While Brandie is studying for nursing school he is always there for encouragement. He loves us unconditionally just as we love him. As silly as it sounds he will always be our first baby no matter how many children we have (furry or not furry).

On last Sunday the 22nd, Brandie woke up before me. She got Bowie out of his cage and let him out to go to the bathroom. When he finished his business and came in she got his food ready for him. He was not interested in eating his food. For him, a 60lb 5 month old puppy, that is weird. However we were in the process of switching foods so that could be explained. Brandie gave him some of his old food and he slowly ate it. I woke up shortly after that and was going about my normal routine and Brandie noticed Bowie's little ears shaking as he was laying on the floor. She got down on the floor and touched his chest. His heart was racing.  An hour later we were at an emergency animal clinic and his heart rate was around 220bpm.  The normal range for dogs is between 80 and 120bpm. The doctor was quite perplexed to his condition, Bowie hadn't gotten in to any chocolate or medicine that would explain his heart rate. So we went home and continued to monitor him. Monday morning his condition was the same. After a long day of visits to our normal veterinarian and another animal hospital we ended up at a facility with a cardiology team. Bowie was immediately taken into their care and treatment to lower his heart rate started. After talking with the cardiologist we found out he has a birth defect in his heart called an
accessory pathway . This defect tells his heart to beat before the pacemaker tells it to. This causes a looping extremely fast rhythm.

After a night at the hospital for Bowie the staff their are still trying to get his heart under control with the right mixture of medicine. The good news is there is a procedure that can completely cure this defect in Bowie's heart. That is a catheter ablation of his accessory pathway. The leading doctor that has perfected this procedure is Dr. Kathy Wright in Cincinnati. A fairly short drive from our home in the Cleveland area. Dr. Wright can perform the procedure as early as next week. The high success rate procedure would let Bowie live a full normal life without need for medication.

Any donations made to this effort will go towards paying for Bowie's current and future hospitalization and this procedure.

With myself working full time and Brandie going through nursing school there just isn't enough funds to go towards this. I could never put into words just how much this financial help would mean to us. Bowie is my baby, and I am just not ready to say goodbye to him. There is so much more I want to show him, so many more balls for him to chase, and bones for him to chew on.
